Golf: Hassan elected APGC’s secretary

Hassan earned the post as candidates from a total of 38 countries contested in the election on Wednesday.

Pakistan Golf Federation’s (PGF) Vice-President Taimur Hassan has been elected as secretary general of the Asia Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC) following elections of the body in Thailand. 


Hassan earned the post as candidates from a total of 38 countries contested in the election on Wednesday. He will be responsible for the development and promotion of the game in the Asia Pacific in his two-year tenure. After becoming APGC’s secretary, Hassan expressed resolve to bring international golf to the country. “This is an honor for Pakistan,” said Hassan. “I will strive to bring international golf to the country.” Meanwhile, Australia’s David Cherry was elected as the APGC president.
