A mobile franchise was robbed and six suspects arrested in separate incidents during the last 24 hours.


In the first incident, Ehsanullah lodged a complaint with the local police that four armed robbers broke into his store at around 10pm on Monday and held him and his friend hostage.


They looted 55 mobile phones, Rs58,000 cash and other valuables from the shop and fled after locking them inside.


Meanwhile, the same police on Tuesday apprehended six persons for possessing drugs, liquor and a weapon. During a patrol in various areas, a police squad seized 140 litres of liquor from Asad Mehmood, 110 bottles from Saifullah, 380 grams of hashish from Muhammad Iqbal and a 30-bore unlicensed pistol with three bullets from Abbas Khan.


Moreover, the same police raided shop and arrested Fayyaz and Riaz for allegedly selling petrol illegally along with 35 litres of the fuel.
