RAWALPINDI:

Police claimed to have arrested the alleged killer of the wife of a retired army officer in Officers Colony.

Saeeda Rahat, the wife of Col (retd) Rahat Qadeer, was found bludgeoned to death in her house in the Morgah area on October 5.

The police registered an FIR against brothers of the deceased on Qadeer’s complaint as the deceased was pursuing a property case against them.

Qadeer told the police that court has decided the case in her favour. The police tracked the accused pair’s cell phone data and then got CCTV footage from the street.

During investigations, the police found the brothers innocent. The team then obtained the cell phone data of Salma Bibi, a housemaid and resident of Barfkhana Colony, Dhok Sayyedan.

The police found she had contacted Qadeer several times after the murder and a raid was conducted on her house in which she was arrested. During interrogation, she confessed to the crime. She told the police that she would visit Qadeer’s house every day and his wife thought they were having an affair. “She would insult me every day which infuriated me and I bludgeoned her to death,” she told the police.
