LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Monday accepted the resignation of Health Minister Tahir Khalil Sindhu and appointed him as minister for human rights and minority affairs. Sindhu had resigned after being reprimanded by the chief minister at a cabinet meeting on November for failing to control the dengue fever epidemic. Earlier in the day, Senator Kamran Michael had visited Sindhu at his residence and asked him to withdraw his resignation. Sindhu refused but also said he would remain in the PML-N and continue to work for it.
