KARACHI:

The Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) has announced that there will be no load-shedding during Ashura from Maghrib prayer till morning the next day.

“We have devised a plan to prevent any unwanted incidents during the month of Muharram,” said a KESC spokesperson on Sunday.

Karachi commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui applauded KESC’s decision and claimed that this will help security officials prevent any terrorist activities. “This will aid law enforcement agencies in chalking out a strong contingency plan,” he explained.

Authorities have also prohibited writing or distribution of objectionable pamphlets or posters, painting or chalking any religious messages in public areas.
