ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) took notice of the transfer of Chief Secretary Sindh Muhammad Ijaz Chaudhry and the Managing Director (MD) of Printing Corporation of Pakistan Sajjad Saleem Hotiana, Express News reported on Sunday.

The ECP also ordered the suspension of both transfers.

The commission informed the government that any transfers in Sindh, Punjab and Balochistan needs permission from the ECP as such transfers can hamper the process of holding local body elections.

The ECP also told the Secretary Establishment Division to explain the two transfers within the next 48 hours.

Appointments

Chaudhry became the Chief Secretary Sindh in April this year. He was previously working as the secretary of the Board of Investment (BOI), Islamabad.

In July former Gilgit-Baltistan chief secretary Sajjad Saleem Hotiana was appointed MD of Printing Corporation of Pakistan in place of Musa Raza Afindi, whose contract was terminated with immediate effect.
