Saddar police said the two men had visited Muhammad Makki’s house in New Muslim Town when he was away at work. They had introduced themselves as his friends and gave her sweets (sohn halwa) that they said they had brought for the family.
Police said the woman fainted after she ate some of the drugged sweet.
They said the kidnappers then fled with the one-and-a-half-year-old son. Makki found his wife lying unconscious when he returned home. She was taken to Bahawal Victoria Hospital. A case has been registered against the two men.
