In support: JI to hold sit-in against NATO supply line
The district amir appreciated the K-P government’s stance to block the Nato supply line.
PESHAWAR:
The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has announced it would stage a sit-in on Kohat Road on November 8 (Friday) against Nato supplies passing through Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) en route to Afghanistan.
Addressing a news conference at the JI’s district office in Nishtarabad on Tuesday, district amir Bahrullah Khan said the party’s central leadership, including General Secretary Liaqat Baloch, provincial amir Professor Ibrahim Khan and provincial minister Sirajul Haq would participate in the protest.
“The drone attack, which occurred when the government and the Taliban were about to start peace talks, was aimed to sabotage the dialogue,” said Bahrullah, referring to the drone strike in North Waziristan Agency which killed Taliban chief Hakimullah Mehsud.
The district amir appreciated the K-P government’s stance to block the Nato supply line and said the JI would support the provincial government in its bold move.
