
Work on several projects in the division has been pending due to lack of funds, a Buildings Department spokesman said on Monday. He said the department required Rs3 billion to complete 14 schemes in the division.
He said the government had been requested for early allocation and release of funds.
He said Rs2.5 billion was needed for a children’s hospital, Rs34.18 million for construction of barracks in the Borstal Jail, Rs34.11 million for construction of barracks in Central Jail, and Rs18.31 million for construction of barracks for 100 warders in Faisalabad District Jail.
He said two barracks would also be constructed at Central Jail at an estimated cost of Rs25.20 million. An additional Rs63.38 million would be spent on construction of 28 residences for District Jail staff, he said.
The spokesman said that the 28 residences in Borstal Jail would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs62.13 million, while residences for grade 1-10 employees at the Central Jail needed Rs64.33.
The spokesman said a judicial complex would be constructed at Bhowana in Chiniot district at an estimated cost of Rs142.35 million, and Rs98.43 million would be spent on construction of Tehsil Complex in Pir Mehal in Toba Tek Singh.

Another Rs4.94 million has been requested for Food Research Station at Ayub Agricultural Research Institute, Rs19.22 million for Emergency Services Complex in Samundri, and Rs2.66 million for provision of basic facilities at Emergency Services station in Faisalabad.
