LAHORE:

A district and sessions judge on Saturday set November 4 for the hearing of a petition filed by a woman against the sports director general, a senior hockey coach, an administration assistant director, a Hockey Stadium superintendent and six unidentified men for allegedly ransacking her office.

Petitioner Azra Parveen told the court that she was a sports deputy director.

She said on October 30, on reaching her office, she noticed that the lock on the door was broken.

She said she found a man sitting inside who told her that the room had been assigned to him by Sports DG Usman Anwar and Deputy Director Walayat Shah.

She said her laptops, a mobile phone, five prize bonds worth Rs40,000, four prize bonds worth Rs750, registeration documents of her car and important office documents had been stolen.

She said it appeared that Anwar, hockey coach Amir Jalil, Administration Assistant Director Nadeem Anjum, Hockey Stadium SP Zahoor and six unidentified people had broken into her office and taken away her missing articles.

She said she had earlier filed two petitions in the Lahore High Court and submitted several applications against her transfer ordered by the DG.

She said she had approached Gulberg police but the station house officer had not registered her complaint.

She asked the court to direct the police to register the case and act against the culprits.
