KARACHI: Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry rejected the blue print presented by the Attorney General regarding illegal weapon and drug smuggling during a hearing of the Karachi law and order case at the Supreme Court Karachi Registry, Express News reported on Thursday.

The chief justice said “not a single word in the blue print states what action will be taken regarding the smuggling taking place in the city.”

Chief Justice Chaudhry also pointed out that the reports submitted by the Customs and Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) had skipped over any mention of the troubled Yousuf Goth and Sohrab Goth areas.

"Even the Lieutenant General of the army is scared to write the name of Yousuf Goth,” he remarked, adding that it seemed, "no one wants to work. Anyone who does not want to work should be removed from duty. Why are they harming this country?”

“No report has been presented in front of the court regarding the weapons that came in 1994,” he added.

Chairman Federal Board of Revenue, ANF Director General (DG), DG Intelligence Customs are still in court giving their views regarding the illegal weapon and drug smuggling.

On October 30, Chief Justice Chaudhry had stated that the police, Coast Guard, ANF and customs are involved in drug smuggling during a hearing of the Karachi law and order case at Supreme Court Karachi Registry.

“Everyone is a mafia. They are only involved in making money,” he had added.

He had further stated that no one cares about Karachi and its general public.

The Supreme Court on October 29 had rebuked the federal government for not taking steps to control the smuggling of arms, ammunition, drugs as well as tax evasions on imports.

With due respect to all commenters....look into what CJ is saying with critical eyes....he is right....it seem only the superior judiciary is playing its part and Karachi law and order case is a classic example....who had given its verdict in 2011 wherein CJ and the bench had pointed problems given solutions, but no serious step was taken by the govt....the same action has been taken in 2013....after loosing so many precious lives.....so what the CH is talking about is no rocket science......think guys with an open mind....please.
