Police crackdown: 53 arrested for various crimes

Police claims to have arrested 53 criminals including seven proclaimed offenders in Multan.

MULTAN: Police claimed on Saturday to have arrested 53 criminals including seven proclaimed offenders in Multan. Police said proclaimed offenders – Amanat Ali, Yasin, Bashir Ahmed, Nazir Ahmed, Javed, Muhammad Ejaz and Muhammad Sajjad – were wanted by police in several cases. Police said it also arrested six drug peddlers and seven illegal weapon holders and recovered 22 litres of liquor, 245 grams of hashish, a revolver, four pistols and bullets from them. In addition, 26 gamblers, six motorcyclists doing wheelies, and a kite seller had also been arrested, police said.
