Inflation: Index up 0.48% during week

The SPI for the combined groups was up by 2.64%; up from 204.24 points in the previous week to 209.63 points this week

ISLAMABAD: The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI), for the week ended October 14, 2013 has registered an increase of 0.48% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the week under review for the above mentioned group was recorded at 201.02 points against 200.05 points registered in the previous week, according to provisional figures from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined groups was up by 2.64%; up from 204.24 points in the previous week to 209.63 points this week. Compared to the corresponding week last year, the SPI for combined groups inflated 11.96%. During the week under review, average prices of indexed items changed as follows: 4 items registered a decrease, 15 items increased and the remaining 34 items’ prices remained unchanged.
