On duty: Cop busted with 100 bottles of liquor

RAWALPINDI: Random checking at a police picket near GPO Chowk, led the Rawalpindi Police to a vehicle with 100 bottles of liquor inside.

Upon questioning, the vehicle’s driver turned out to be the gunman of Rawal Town Superintendent of Police Jamaat Ali Bukhari. Constable Naseer Ahmed was immediately arrested for possession of alcohol.

According to the police, Ahmed’s brother was caught last week with 96 bottles of liquor.

According to Investigation Officer Raja Liaquat, Ahmed was suspended from duty a week ago when his brother was caught as it was ascertained that both brothers were involved in liquor running.

An FIR against Ahmed was registered at the Cantt Police Station. The SP was unavailable for comment.
