Sexual assault: Girl jumps from balcony to save herself

KARACHI:

An 18-year-old girl, S* was injured as she jumped from the second floor of a residential apartment in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) locality on Monday, after she was subjected to sexual assault, the police and doctors said. Meanwhile, the police have arrested the man accused of rape, and have initiated further investigation.

“The arrested accused picked the girl, S*, from the Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine and took her to his flat,” said Clifton Division Superintendent Police Sarfaraz Nawaz while quoting the initial investigation. “In the beginning, it was consensual, as the girl had come to the apartment at her own will. Later on, the things, however, went awry between the two and the police are trying to ascertain the point of dispute, which compelled the girl to jump off the balcony,” he said.
