Girl falls out of Karachi building during sexual assault

Police say they have made an arrest in connection with the case.

KARACHI: A girl fell from the second story flat in phase II of DHA on Monday evening during an alleged sexual assault, Express News reported on Monday.

The girl, who sustained head injuries as a result of the fall, was rushed to the Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center (JPMC).

SSP South Munir Sheikh said that in her initial statement, the girl said she was first abducted near Abdullah Shah Gazi’s shrine, and taken to the flat in DHA.

SSP Sheikh added that it was when the girl created a ruckus that when she fell and escaped her alleged assaulter. He said there was some conflcting information on whether the girl jumped or had been pushed out of the flat by her attacker.

Police said that they have managed to arrest a suspect, Khalid Khan, from the vicinity. They added that Khan was allegedly found under the influence of intoxicants. Khan has previously been named in an FIR in the Defence police station in 2010.
