No injuries were reported after a fire partially gutted a shop on Rawalpindi’s Jamia Masjid Road on Saturday afternoon.
There were no injuries reported in the incident, said an official. He said the shop was located underneath a house and a woman who was in the house at the time of the fire escaped by jumping roofs to the neighbouring building.

According to Rescue 1122 officials, the fire was caused by an electrical short-circuit in the building that houses both residential and commercial units.
The fire, which started at around 2pm, could have turned into a major catastrophe because the shop sold gas cylinders. Two gas cylinders blew up in the fire, a Rescue 1122 control room officer said, but the fire was controlled by firefighters before it could spread and cause further damage.
