Embezzlement case: Mansehra district council officer sentenced

He was sentenced to 30 years of imprisonment.

PESHAWAR: An anti-corruption court (ACC) on Tuesday sentenced Mansehra district council chairman and sub-engineer to 30 years of imprisonment collectively and fined them on charges of corruption. ACC Judge Fazal Subhan passed the sentence after the prosecutor informed the court that Mansehra district council Sub-engineer Nasir Mehmood and Chairman Muhammad Ashraf along with his sisters Salma Naz and Robina Naz had been involved in embezzling millions of rupees from a development project of clean drinking water in Mansehra. The ACC awarded 20 years of imprisonment and Rs100,000 fine to Nasir Mehmood, 10 years imprisonment and Rs100,000 fine to Muhammad Ashraf and one year imprisonment to his sisters along with a Rs26,000 fine each.
