Pak Deputy Envoy summoned by MEA: India lodges strong protest over firing by Pakistan forces on unarmed fishermen in which one person died.
— Press Trust of India (@PTI_News) October 14, 2013
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday off the coast of Gujjarat between India and Pakistan.
The fishing boat 'Dhanvati' was reportedly involved in the incident. An Indian fishermen boat association further claimed that as many as 30 fishermen had been abducted.
Fishermen from both countries are often arrested by maritime security forces of the respective countries after allegedly straying into waters of the other country. Pakistan says there are as many as 386 of its citizens are being held as prisoners in Indian jails.

@Pakistani:
I know what crap you guys buy but thats not the point. The thing is have you read my comment ???
@Pradhan: Have you read the story referenced here from Times of India? If you have read it in detail you wouldn't sound so dumb here. Here is the expert from the story to help your naivety:
"When we were fishing in international waters, Pakistani agency boats came there and started firing on us. We managed to escape but one of our fellow fishermen died," Magan Soso, one of fishermen of five member team who were present on boat Dhanvati said after returning to Porbandar
Like I said, Indians buy this crap, we don't.
After firing at fishing ships I am sure Pakistani Navy must be feeling proud. Their army chief is talking about negotiation to TTP where they have already killed 50,000 Pakistani in Pakistan. So, I am sure it is sort of a morale boost to them which reaffirmed them the fact that they still have skills to pull the trigger at unarmed people. BRAVO....
@Pakistani:
I can understand how difficult it would be for a person who live in conspiracy theories to understand two lines. So, let me just quote from this article again for you. . The fishing boat ‘Dhanvati’ was reportedly involved in the incident. An Indian fishermen boat association further claimed that as many as 30 fishermen had been abducted. . It doesn't say anything about 1 eye witness or it doesn't say that those 30 abducted were from Dhanvati ship. Simply it says, there was an incident where Pak army fired at Indian fishermen and Dhanvati ship was there during the firing. The person might be from this boat or not it is not clear. the article do not say anything about it. . Second line is Indian fishermen boat association says that 30 people were abducted by Pakistani army it does not say about any eye witness or it doesn't say how they know about it. . If you wish to get all the details then please contact your ambassador to India.
Does ths mean that the Talibans are now active on the high sea as well? nlss ofcourse that Pakistan coast guards are using the Taliban tactcs now to deal with the peaceful neighbour!

Its another sample that pakistan want peace with india.
cry me a river, getting real tired of Indian local politics demands on anti-pakistan rhetoric, grow up
I used to think sending militants and army personnels dressed as rebels in Indian Kashmir was an all time low. However, killing unarmed fishermen is the highest act of cowardice displayed by the world's so-called 5th biggest army. They bow in front of taliban and kill innocent fishermen on the other hand. How much worser can it get than that.
Indian Media stories don't add up. There was one boat "Dhanvati" carrying at least 32 fisherman (1 killed, 1 giving statement and 30 allegedly kidnapped by Pakistani forces). Pakistanis allegedly had five boats, they attacked Dhanvati, killed one, took 30 fishermen with them and still this surviving eye-witness (and his surviving fellows) "managed to save the boat back to India"? Why would they let them go back to India after taking 30 men from the same boat? Just so that they can tell the story back in India? Kidnapping 30 men is time consuming and sounded like Pakistan would have been in full control (if they had actually done that), so how did the survivors "managed to get back". Sorry, I don't buy the story. Sell it to Indian public!
as it happened, same denial will be there, pakistan was not involved in killing indians fisherman.
Getting ready for naval fire exchange ?
