KARACHI: A petition has been filed in Supreme Court, seeking auction of former president Asif Ali Zardari’s moveable and immovable properties to recover the $60 million he allegedly earned by money laundering and stashed in Swiss bank accounts. Petitioner Syed Mehmood Akhtar Naqvi maintains that the former president in his tenure used his position to delay the re-opening of the money laundering case pending before the Swiss courts. “Swiss authorities have now refused to open the graft cases that have become time-barred,” the petitioner argued. He pleaded to the court to also direct the FIA and NAB to take steps for extradition of former president through Interpol and place his name in Exit Control List.
