Sri Lanka team attack: Nek exempt from appearance

Hearing adjourned till October 24.

LAHORE:
A special bench of the Lahore High Court on Thursday adjourned till October 24 an appeal by the Punjab government against the grant of bail to Zubair alias Nek Muhammad, the alleged mastermind of the attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team here in March 2009. The bench headed by Justice Shahid Hameed Dar also allowed Muhammad to skip court appearances, as he said that his life was in danger. The government lawyer in the case says that an anti-terrorism court granted Muhammad bail despite there being evidence of his involvement in the attack.
