On a tip-off, the Rangers raided the Pakistan Peoples Party MPA Nagori's office in Nayabad, Lyari and found the weapons inside his black Vigo. "I did not oppose the raid at my office and I appreciated it," said MPA Nagori while talking to The Express Tribune. "The weapons found in my car were licenced and I have authentic permits from the federal government. I have presented those documents to the Rangers."

According to Nagori, out of the three sub-machine guns, two belonged to his police security guards and one was issued to his close relative. His Vigo, bearing the government registration number, was parked at his office when the Rangers carried out the raid. "The policemen who owned these weapons were present but they were sleeping at the time of the raid," he explained.
The Rangers took away the weapons and promised to return them as soon as the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) verified the documents he presented, said Nagori. "All this gives a clear message that we support the ongoing targeted raids and operations even after my office was raided," he stressed.

On the other hand, Rangers officials said that the raid was carried out on a tip-off, while some parts of G-3 rifle and ammunitions were also found from his car. "We would carry out an arrest if the weapons are found to be illegal," said a Rangers official on the condition of anonymity.
