The city managers on Monday held balloting for the allotment of plots to some 37 applicants in sectors D-12 and E-12 at the headquarters of the Capital Development Authority.
CDA had received 37 applications for heavily advertised plots of different sizes. To ensure transparency, CDA has requested the Pakistan Computer Bureau to develop a software for the balloting and it was verified and examined by experts from the Foundation for Advancement of Science and Technology, a leading IT university. A total of 16 applicants had applied for plots in Sector D-12 while 21 applicants had applied for Sector E-12.
On the occasion, CDA Member Estate Shaista Sohail tried to dispel the impression that the plots’ prices were fixed higher than the market price, saying that rates were based on the average price of the last 10 plots auctioned in Sector D-12 this year.
The highest bid received for the plot auctioned in March was Rs73,000 per square yard, while the current price was Rs62,700 per square yard, she added.
