Urging peace discourse: Maulana Hamdullah Jan calls for dialogue with Taliban

The two elders discussed various critical challenges facing the country.

Renowned Islamic scholar and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Hamdullah Jan has called for the immediate initiation of peace talks with the Taliban in accordance with the recommendations of the all-parties conference (APC).


“Dialogue and negotiations, not the use of force will help restore peace in the country,” said Maulana Hamdullah while talking to Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) Chairman Maulana Mohammad Khan Sheerani who visited him at his residence in Daghai village, Swabi.

The two elders discussed various critical challenges facing the country. The meeting was also attended by JUI-F’s local leader and CII member Maulana Fazal Ali Haqqani, Maulana Attaul Haq Darwaish and others.

Maulana Hamdillah Jan said in order to steer Pakistan out of chaos, the nation must follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet (pbuh). He also prayed for peace and prosperity in the country.
