Breaking and entering: SSP has two days to probe robbery

A court on Friday gave the Hyderabad SSP, Fida Hussain Mastoi, two days to show progress in the investigations into a robbery at a sessions judge’s house.



The SSP appeared before the civil judge and judicial magistrate- IX Gohar Khan Gadahi and told the court that the police were making efforts to trace and arrest the suspected robbers.

He added, however, that no progress has been made so far. According to the details contained in the FIR lodged at Bhitai Nagar police station, three robbers broke into the residence of judge Zameer Tunio in Citizens Colony in the morning of September 24 and held the family hostage as they stole the goods worth over Rs700,000 including cash, laptop, mobile phones and other things.

Last week, the district and sessions judge, Aijaz Khaskheli, ordered the SSP to personally conduct an inquiry into the case and to report progress to the court on alternate days.
