Fraud abroad: Accused flees after bail denied

The court dismissed Zakaullah’s pre-arrest bail plea, but he somehow managed to escape from police custody.

LAHORE: A man accused of defrauding a Syrian in Saudi Arabia was denied bail on Monday, but managed to evade the police and escape. Muhammad, a Syrian national, had lodged a case against Zakaullah with Khushab police for allegedly fleeing to Pakistan withuor repaying a loan of 155,000 Saudi riyals (Rs4.375 million). Khushab DPO Mujahid Akbar told the court that the police had investigated the allegations and found them to be true. The court dismissed Zakaullah’s pre-arrest bail plea, but he somehow managed to escape from police custody.
