Fire engulfs over two dozen shops in Lahore's Landa Bazaar

No loss of life has been reported.

LAHORE: A massive gutted over two dozen shops in Lahore's Landa Bazaar on Monday evening, Express News reported.

The fire has been subdued and the rescue teams are working to see if there are chances the fire can break out again.

According to reports there are are over 80 shops in the area and when one of them caught fire, it quickly spread.

"There were shoes and clothes in the shops worth millions which have now been destroyed," reported Express News correspondent Asif Faraz.

So far 35 shops in the Bazaar have caught fire which is located on Ferozepur Road.

"When the shops caught fire, the shopkeepers immediately left the shops," said Faraz.

"Some fainted but were immediately given first aid treatment," he said.

Rescue efforts are underway but according to initial reports, the teams were alerted after some time had passed since the people of the area were making their own efforts to subdue the fire.

"The nearby residential area has also been affected," said Faraz, adding that it is difficult to determine if there has been any casualty in the houses the fire has affected.

No loss of human life has been reported so far.

Sad News! "Hopefully" there was not any clothing items from Foreign AID to Flood victims. I remember whole containers were snatched from airports by thieves upon arriving. We worked day and night to collect only the Brand New stuff for them here in the Americas. Lets see what are their claims!
