Corrupt practices : SHOs not allowed kar-i-khas cops, says RPO
Anyone found violating these orders will be suspended.
FAISALABAD:
Station house officers are not allowed to have private gunmen and city police officers and district police officers should ensure that policemen did not perform duty anywhere other than where the order book stated, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Mian Javaid Islam said on Sunday.
He had taken notice of the SHOs’ practice of assigning ‘kar-i-khas’ to file temporary complaints even if they were posted elsewhere.
The practice of assigning ‘kar-i-khas’ to police stations other than where they were posted was illegal, arbitrary and should be done away with forthwith, Islam observed.
“Anyone found violating these orders will be suspended and the relevant circle officers, including DSPs and SSPs, will face disciplinary action,” he said.
He also issued directions against allowing people with ‘bad reputation’ inside police stations. If officials fail to carry out these instructions, they will be taken to task, he said.
