Zaman, Nosherwan progress to last-eight

KARACHI: Qualifiers Mansoor Zaman and Nosherwan Khan progressed to the quarter-finals of the CAS International Squash Championship while the top seeds also sealed their places at the PAF Hashim Khan Squash Complex in Peshawar yesterday.

Zaman outplayed Syed Ali Mujtaba Shah Bokhari 11-8, 11-6 and 11-8. He will now face Danish Atlas Khan, who beat wild card Owais Khan 13-15, 3-11, 11-7, 11-6 and 11-5.

Nosherwan defeated Karamatullah Khan 11-4, 11-5, 10-12 and 11-9 and will be up against second-seed Amir Atlas Khan, who thrashed Tayyab Aslam in straight sets.

Meanwhile, Aqeel Rehman went down 11-7, 12-10, 4-11, 12-10 to local boy Farhan Mehboob.

Top seed Nasir Iqbal defeated Waqas Mehboob 3-1, winning with a scoreline of 6-11, 11-5, 11-1 and 11-5 while Sheikh Saqib Yousaf also won in a similar fashion against Khawaja Adil Maqbool.
