Livestock technology: Sindh govt to get Japanese expertise
Project will commence with 5 pilot farmers selected for development of livestock technologies in each district.
ISLAMABAD:
The Sindh Government and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on Wednesday signed an agreement to implement 5 years project on sustainable livestock development in rural Sindh to revive livestock potential in Pakistan. The project will commence with five pilot farmers to be selected for the development of low cost and sustainable livestock technologies in each district. The government in collaboration with Japanese experts in several fields has formulated a livestock development master plan along with the strategy and action plan-2020 based on the scrutiny carried out from 2011-2012. The project will lead to the increase of the income and assets of the livestock farmers in the target districts, particularly small farmers including tenant and non-farm households.
