Charges of corruption : Police dept suspends 38 more officials
They were suspended over their alleged involvement in the organised crime.
KARACHI:
A day after the district South police took action against 37 officials over their alleged involvement in collecting extortion from dens, 38 policemen from district East were suspended on the same grounds. The policemen, posted at different police stations of district East, include a sub-inspector, two ASIs, 13 head constables and 22 constables. They were suspended over their alleged involvement in the organised crime, especially collecting extortion from the dens of gambling and narcotics. The police chief of district East, DIG Munir Shaikh, said that action against the policemen was taken after the internal police investigation against the “black sheep in the police department. More officials will punished if found guilty.”
