He spoke to Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar over the phone about security and political situation.
He is due to meet the Sindh chief secretary, Inspector General (IG) of Sindh Police and DG Rangers this evening.
He is expected to head to the Governor House upon his arrival. According to sources, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leadership has expressed their faith in him.
Earlier, MQM sources had confirmed that the governor had sent his resignation to the president in protest at the targeted operation in Sindh. The media office in the Presidency, however, neither confirmed nor denied the resignation report.
According to a report, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan had phoned Ebad in Dubai and asked him to review his decision. “The interior minister assured the governor that the federal government would address his party’s concerns on Karachi operation,” a representative in the minister’s office had said.
However, according to another report, Dr. Ebad during his telephonic conversation with Nisar had clarified his position and denied reports about his resignation.
“I have not yet resigned, but situation is very deplorable in which the option for the resignation cannot be ruled out” sources privy to the development had quoted the governor.
Dr Ebad had decided to resign before this as well. He had announced that he was leaving the government in February 2013 and before that on June 27, 2011.
He assumed office on December 2, 2002 was the youngest and longest serving Governor of Sindh since Pakistan’s inception.

@Pakistani: "WELCOME BACK!"
When did he leave?
Fickle behaviour of an educated person!
Well he is resigned to accept his fate as Sind governor for rest of his life....no one fight the fate!
Glad to see sensible Governor Ebad, back in action. A true asset of Sindh and a True Asset for Karahiites & MQM.
WELCOME BACK!
why he always leave Pakistan before resigning !
Excellent example of good governance. Always keep others guessing what has happened ? What will happen ? Do not tell anyone and just slip away to Dubai for treatment. Treatment for what ailment ?. He deserves another medal for confusion.
Sindh is the only province on the earth which has got lifetime (ta-hayat) CM and governor.
It is not easy to give up governorship and live like an ordinary citizen in this land of the pure.
Continuity of Dr. Ishratul Ebad proves wrong the ages old edge that " no one is irreplaceable".
Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan is the longest serving Governor of a Province in Pakistan. May be he also holds the record for tendering resignations and then taking back to continue working.
Lifetime Governor or until aliens will take over.
People dont like MQM in power but they like Taliban in power, pity on them
As a child I was good at solving puzzles. This quality of mine improved manifold as I grew older. Now however the situation is reversed. Even the simplest is beyond me. . Has the gentleman retired? If he has retired, when? If not when was he reinstated? By whom? If his departure was by his own free-will, is his return as well? Is the Governor's office is located in Dubai, somewhere else or Karachi?
Good to see you back in the office.
Longest serving democratic governor 14 years saw 07 prime minsters and got the the medal "Governor of democracy"
New Records of resignations...
I think this has been unwritten constitution that until Eshrat survives "no one can dare to enter the house". Parvez Mushraf thn Zardari and Now Nawaz Shareef all are on same page to protect and intact the legend.
he should continue to rule SINDH.he is an icon of unity between sects.
