KARACHI:

About two weeks after holding prayers for global peace, the Christians are now pleading for their lives. And Muslims from all walks of life have also joined them in their plea.

Like elsewhere in the country, the legal fraternity in Karachi registered its protest against the twin suicide attacks in Peshawar on Sunday.

Legal work came to a halt, as lawyers abstained from judicial work. No legal proceedings took place at the Sindh High Court, City Courts and the anti-terrorism courts.

At a general body meeting, SHC Bar Association president Mustafa Lakhani condemned the brutal incident. “Our (Christian) brothers should not consider themselves unsafe and alone. The members of the bar are with them.”
