BUNER: Awami National Party (ANP) local leader Anwar Khan was killed in a firing incident in Buner on Sunday, Express Tribune reported.

A search operation is underway but no arrests have been made.

The incident occurred in a remote area where there were no witnesses.

Earlier on September 18, an improvised explosive device (IED) was planted by unidentified men near an ANP representative, Razzaq Buneri’s residence but it cannot be said who the target was.

The police had reported that the IED contained four to five kilogrammes of explosives.
