LAHORE: A judicial magistrate on Monday extended by four days the physical remand of a man accused of throwing his two-year-old daughter in Ravi River. Shahadra police brought Umar Hayat, a rickshaw driver, before the magistrate’s court seeking further remand. The court handed him over to the police for four more days. One week ago, Hayat’s wife Sumaira Bibi had filed an FIR saying he had thrown their two-year-old daughter into the river because she had not given birth to a boy.
