ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday entertained a petition for hearing against barricades set up by the police on roads of the city. IHC Justice Riaz Ahmed Khan will take up the petition on Monday. The petition filed by advocate Waqas Malik seeks the court’s direction for the removal of the barriers, which, according to the petitioner, obstruct the movement of citizens. The petition maintains that the capital police have erected over 60 barriers on different roads which create hurdles in the smooth flow of traffic. It adds that barriers should be established only on exit and entry points. The interior minister, inspector general of the Islamabad Police, Islamabad chief commissioner and CDA chairman were named as respondents.
