LAHORE: Ajoka’s play Bullha opened at Alhamra Arts Council on Wednesday to mark 12 years of 9/11 attacks. Bulleh Shah lived at a time of a communal strife between Muslims and Sikhs. The play traced his journey in life and how he preached tolerance and peace even in the face of threats against his life. “Bulleh Shah and Banda Singh Bahadur lived in the same period but they responded to the tyranny of the rulers in very different ways. They never met,” said playwright Shahid Nadeem. “In the play, they do meet. I have taken this liberty to show their divergent world views.”
