BISP’s office raided: 350 ATM cards recovered

Complainants alleged that BISP Director and his accomplices had been withdrawing money using their cards.

BAHAWALPUR:
Benazir Income Support Programme’s district office is carrying out an investigation after 350 ATM cards were recovered from the director’s office in Khairpur Tamewali on Wednesday. A BISP investigation team raided the office on a complaint filed by beneficiaries Masood Mai and Kausar Shahnaz. The women had complained that they had not received their ATM cards. They alleged that BISP Director Nasir Jatoi Baloch and his accomplices – postman Muhammad Abid and postmasters Ghulam Shabbir and Shafiqur Rehman – had been withdrawing money using their cards. Inquiry Officers Iftikhar and Wasiq told the media that the ATM cards had been recovered. They said they were recording statements of the staff concerned and would soon give out the details in a press conference. Director Nasir Jatoi denied the allegations.
