Pending construction: Citizens demand completion of centre

Scores of citizens protested on Thursday against the delay in completion of a project started by the Punjab government in 2011 for women students. The protesters said that the Rs70 million project had been left incomplete by contractors. They demanded that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif take immediate notice of the delay and make it one of his priorities. Construction work on the project called the Centre of Excellence, a vocational training institute for women, was inaugurated by MNA Saira Afzal Tarrar, the former chairperson of the task force on education.
