Crime: Body found; seven nabbed

A body was recovered and seven persons were arrested in separate incidents in Taxila on Monday.


In the first incident, the mutilated body of a man was recovered from a deserted area in Tehsil Taxila.


The incident came to light when a local man, Anwar Khan, spotted the body lying in his field and informed the local police, who reached the scene and shifted it to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. The victim has not been identified yet.


Meanwhile, the same police on Monday arrested seven persons and seized hashish and weapons from their possession.


Acting on a tip-off, a police party seized 1.15kg of hashish from Mohsin, 1.11kg from Nauman, 125 grams from Aslam, a 30-bore pistol and six bullets from Babar, a 30-bore pistol and four bullets from Farooq, a 30-bore pistol and three bullets from Wasim and a 30-bore pistol and two bullets from Naveed Qamar.


Separate cases have been registered against them under the relevant laws and investigations are underway, said an official.
