QUETTA: Two people were killed and eight injured Sunday evening in an explosion that took place near Sariab Road, Quetta, Express News reported.

Initial reports suggest the explosion occurred near a grid station.

"Explosives were planted in a bicycle parked in the area," reported Mohammad Akram, Express News correspondent.

Police and FC personnel arrived on the site and cordoned the area off for further investigation.

"The explosion also caused damage to the nearby vehicles," said Akram.

The injured were shifted to the Civil Hospital where the condition of three is being described as critical.

Sariab Road has been host to multiple terrorist attacks in the past.

Last month, two people were killed and one injured in a blast near the road. According to police, unknown persons had planted an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) near Irrigation Colony which exploded.
