Kidnapping: Judge orders case against sub inspector

Petitioner requested the court to direct the police to arrest the SI and Shakila Bibi.

GUJRANWALA: District and Sessions Judge Tariq Yaqoob on Wednesday ordered the police to register a case against a sub inspector and his accomplices accused of kidnapping a woman and forcibly marrying her.

The petition was filed by a woman who said that on June 22, Sub Inspector Khalid Mehmood’s wife Shakila Bibi visited her house and asked her if her daughter could help her with some shopping in the nearby market.

She said she agreed and let her daughter go.

She said when her daughter did not return she went to look for them, but did not find them anywhere.

She said Shakila Bibi had detained her daughter at various places before SI Mehmood forcibly married her.

She said her daughter was starved and beaten. She said a few days ago, her daughter got an opportunity to escape and return home.

She requested the court to direct the police to arrest the SI and Shakila Bibi.

The judge then directed the police to register a case against the two. Both of them are missing.
