The former captain met PCB’s Chief Operating Officer Subhan Ahmad and legal adviser Tafazzul Rizvi at the Gaddafi Stadium, where he submitted material on Danish Kaneria, who is serving a life-time ban.
Latif stated that Bhatt, named as a key figure in the county spot-fixing scam that resulted in Kaneria’s ban, was the PCB’s guest during the home series against England and India in 2005-06, after which he was slapped with the notice.
“Latif has submitted four to five document files,” an official close to the matter told The Express Tribune. “Kaneria’s case was also discussed. The PCB’s legal counsel will have a thorough look.”
Latif said the meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere.
“It’s a sensitive case that cannot be discussed publicly,” said Latif. “More meetings with the PCB will be held and I am hopeful the outcome will be good for Pakistan’s cricket.”
