Arshad Pappu case: IO ordered to expedite confiscation of absconders’ property

Court, expressing dissatisfaction with the officer’s actions, directed him to go in person to the revenue department.

An anti-terrorism court (ATC), on Monday, directed the investigating officer to speed up the process of confiscating the property of Uzair Jan Baloch, Habib Jan Baloch, Noor Muhammad alias Baba Ladla and six others facing trial under murder charges of Arshad Pappu, his brother and a confidant, till September 12.


The investigating officer told the court that he had completed his share of the work and was awaiting the revenue department’s response to provide details of the properties of the suspects.

The court, expressing dissatisfaction with the officer’s actions, directed him to go in person to the revenue department, complete the process of confiscating the property and submit a report by the next hearing.

An ATC court had declared the suspects, Uzair Jan Baloch, leader of the banned Peoples Aman Committee, Habib Jan Baloch, Noor Muhammad alias Baba Ladla, Asif Kana, Zahid Ladla, Faisal Pathan, Yasir Pathan, Inspector Jan Khan Niazi and Inspector Javed Baloch, proclaimed offenders and had ordered to confiscate their movable and immoveable properties on July 23.

Alleged Lyari gangster Arshad Pappu, his brother, Yasir Arafat, and their confidant, Juma Shera, were killed on the night of March 16.

According to the FIR registered on the complaint of Arshad Pappu’s widow, the victims were killed after being subjected to torture and the bodies of her husband and his brother were thrown in manholes in Kalakot locality after being mutilated and alleged that the offence was committed at the behest of Pakistan Peoples Party leader, Shahjehan Baloch.
