National Monument: Structure reflects history of Pakistan
The four main petals of the monument represent the four provinces of the country.
ISLAMABAD:
The petal-shaped granite structure of Pakistan Monument reflecting the history, culture and unity of the provinces of Pakistan was attracting a number of visitors and tourists visiting capital city.
The foundation stone of Pakistan Monument, covering 2.8 hectares of land and located at the west viewpoint of the Shakarparian Hills, was laid down on May 24, 2004, and inaugurated on March 23, 2007.
The four main petals of the monument represent the four provinces of the country including Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, while the three smaller petals represent Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and FATA.
