According to an update on KESC’s official Facebook page, the Sindh Police owes Rs1 billion to the company, while KMC needs to pay bills worth Rs1.7 billion.
“Failure to clear their long-standing dues will result in electricity disconnection,” KESC stated.
The online message from the power company also said that, "numberless meetings, warnings and notices have not brought any positive results."
The KESC had earlier disconnected power supply to the Pakistan Steel Mills, which was later restored after the payment of pending bills.
The company has repeatedly complained about the financial crisis it faces due to the unavailability of funds, which is a direct result of non-payment of bills by public sector entities.
