LAHORE: Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial of the Lahore High Court has directed the district and sessions judge to make sure that the police submit within three days the challan for a gang-rape case.

The LHC Complaints Cell had taken notice of the incident on a press report, according to which a woman was abducted and then raped by three men when she went to visit a doctor.

The woman, a resident of Pattoki, had come to Lahore to visit her sister in Nishter Colony.

The district and sessions judge later reported that police had registered a rape case against Tariq Ballar Wala and two other young men, while the victim had been medically examined and samples sent for DNA testing. The victim had also identified one of the accused.

The LHC, in its latest instructions, told the district and sessions judge to make sure that the police complete a thorough and transparent investigation and submit the challan or charge sheet within three days.
