Skills development: PVTC to organise Hunar Mela

The two-day Hunar Mela will be held on August 29-30 at Children’s Library Complex.

LAHORE:

The Punjab Vocational Training Council (PVTC) is organising a two-day skills festival to promote technical education and vocational training and create awareness on training opportunities for boys and girls.

The two-day Hunar Mela will be held on August 29-30 at Children’s Library Complex in collaboration with Reform Support Programme, which is funded by European countries and being implemented by the GTZ in Pakistan.

Thirty vocational training institutes of the PVTC will set up stalls. They will display products developed by the trainees and provide information about training opportunities, eligibility criteria and admission schedules.

“The Hunar Mela will be open to the public,” says Bushra Nawaz, the marketing manager of the PVTC.

“A vast majority of the youth are usually unaware of skill development opportunities. This event is a chance for them to learn about the training offers,” she added.

She urged boys and girls and their parents to visit the Hunar Mela to get first-hand information.
