PM denies Javed Laghari another term as HEC chairman

Laghari will complete his current tenure of four years on August 26.

ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister on Saturday turned down a request for extending the tenure of Higher Education Commission (HEC) chairman Javed Laghari, Express News reported.

Appointed as chairman in August 2009, Laghari's term will end on August 26 this week.

Express News correspondent Zaigham Naqvi informed that the Ministry of Education, Training and Standards in Higher Education had sent a summary to the prime minister on extending Laghari's tenure for another four years.

Naqvi said that according to Ministry sources, the premier had rejected the request.

This is good decision by the PM, as feed back from HEC about Lagari's performance over the years is not encouraging to give him an other term. He is not suitable for a higher position in Pakistan

I agreed with usman awan,these posts should advertise in news paper so every one can apply.after interview one should come on merit rather than likes and dislikes.
