Sindh Chief Secretary Muhammad Ijaz Chaudhry has directed the police and the home department to beef up security around the areas where people belonging to the Ismaili community are residing in Karachi.
He was holding a meeting with a four-member delegation of the community which called on him at his office on Thursday.
The delegates apprised the chief secretary about their community services in the fields of education, health and social sciences and briefed him about their problems with specific reference to the recent Jamaat Khana incidents.
Chaudhry advised the additional IG police, Ghulam Qadir Thebu, to strengthen the security and asked the additional chief secretary for the home department and the Karachi commissioner to look into the issue and resolve their problems.
